Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to your most common dental questions - from routine care to complex treatments.
We recommend visiting a dentist every six months, even if you have no pain or obvious dental problems. Regular check-ups allow us to catch cavities, gum disease, and enamel issues early - when they are much easier and less expensive to treat. Early intervention is always better than waiting for symptoms.
Modern dental procedures are largely painless. We use effective local anaesthesia techniques, advanced gentle instruments, and take time to ensure your comfort before beginning any procedure. Patients are often pleasantly surprised by how comfortable treatments are at our clinic.
During your first visit, Dr. Ashni Shah will conduct a thorough oral examination, take digital X-rays if required, perform a comprehensive smile evaluation, and create a personalised treatment plan tailored to your needs and concerns. There is no pressure - we take time to explain everything and answer all your questions.
Signs that you may need professional scaling include: persistent bad breath despite regular brushing, gums that bleed when you brush or floss, visible yellowish or brownish tartar deposits on your teeth, red or swollen gum tissue, and teeth that look discoloured near the gumline. A professional cleaning is recommended every 6 months.
Yes. Dental implants are one of the most well-researched and proven treatments in modern dentistry. The titanium implant fuses with the jawbone (osseointegration) and functions exactly like a natural tooth root. With proper care, implants can last a lifetime. Our clinic is led by Dr. Ashni Shah, who has a specialised residency in Implant Dentistry.
No - this is one of the most common dental misconceptions. Root canal treatment is performed under effective local anaesthesia and is no more uncomfortable than getting a filling. In fact, the treatment relieves the severe pain caused by an infected tooth. We also offer single-sitting root canals for eligible patients.
Professional in-chair whitening results typically last 1–2 years depending on your dietary habits. Avoiding staining foods and beverages (coffee, tea, red wine), not smoking, and brushing with a whitening toothpaste will extend the results. Touch-up treatments every 12–18 months keep your smile consistently bright.
The Indian Dental Association recommends a child's first dental visit by their first birthday, or within 6 months of their first tooth appearing. Early visits help children become comfortable with dental settings and allow us to guide parents on appropriate oral hygiene from infancy.
Implants are cared for just like natural teeth - brush twice daily, floss regularly, and visit your dentist every 6–12 months. Avoid smoking, as it significantly increases the risk of implant failure. In the immediate healing period (3–6 months), attend all follow-up appointments to monitor osseointegration.
The root canal treatment and crown placement are typically done in separate appointments. The root canal usually requires 1–2 sessions; the crown requires a further 2 visits (preparation and fitting, usually 7–10 days apart). However, a temporary crown can be placed immediately after the root canal to protect the tooth.
We accept cash, all major debit and credit cards, and UPI payments. For certain treatments, we may be able to discuss flexible payment arrangements - please speak to our team at the time of consultation.
